I will share my donation a day progress again early next week, but… oh my goodness, this set!
I wanted to make a blanket to match a newborn size bonnet I made early in the month, and I chose this Free Dragonfly Stitch Pattern. I love the resulting blanket. I love the pattern, I love the color, I love the border I made. I probably should have used a size smaller hook, but I still love it. I might have to make a similar blanket as a baby gift for a friend some day.
The repeat is 13+4, it always bothers me when that information isn’t included in a pattern. I did 4 dragonflies across and 6 rows of the dragonfly pattern, with 2 rows of dc between each set of dragonflies. I used Caron Simply Soft in light country peach and an I hook. The blanket, before the border, is 17″ wide and 22″ tall. The border adds an inch all around, so the finished size is 19″ wide and 24″ tall.
My border (Caron Simply Soft in off white) is 2 rounds of sc, then a round in light country peach where I sc, ch3 around (sc, ch1, sc for corners,) then with the off white I did a round where I sc in each peach sc and in the spaces did sc, hdc, dc, dc, hdc, sc. I think this border will be a repeat, too. I love the hint of color in the middle of it.
This is awesome!

Yes! I want to try to modify the stitch pattern to make butterflies. It shouldn’t be too difficult, theoretically.
