Dragonfly Baby Set

I will share my donation a day progress again early next week, but… oh my goodness, this set!

I wanted to make a blanket to match a newborn size bonnet I made early in the month, and I chose this Free Dragonfly Stitch Pattern.  I love the resulting blanket.  I love the pattern, I love the color, I love the border I made.  I probably should have used a size smaller hook, but I still love it.  I might have to make a similar blanket as a baby gift for a friend some day.

The repeat is 13+4, it always bothers me when that information isn’t included in a pattern.  I did 4 dragonflies across and 6 rows of the dragonfly pattern, with 2 rows of dc between each set of dragonflies.  I used Caron Simply Soft in light country peach and an I hook.  The blanket, before the border, is 17″ wide and 22″ tall.  The border adds an inch all around, so the finished size is 19″ wide and 24″ tall.  img_4875

My border (Caron Simply Soft in off white) is 2 rounds of sc, then a round in light country peach where I sc, ch3 around (sc, ch1, sc for corners,) then with the off white I did a round where I sc in each peach sc and in the spaces did sc, hdc, dc, dc, hdc, sc.  I think this border will be a repeat, too.  I love the hint of color in the middle of it.
